Some time ago Charles Schwab had an commercial running that said buying lottery tickets did not represent a viable long term investment strategy. So today when I got into an elevator and recognized that the fellow with a fist full of lottery tickets was an investment broker I had to ask. He confirmed with a solid “you bet it is.”
