The original Double Elephant Folio edition of J.J. Audubon’s Birds of America publish around 1826 came in at a weight of about 56 pounds. I received the Baby Elephant edition for Christmas which comes in at about 20 pounds. Heavy. Each page is 11 3/4 x 15 inches. The paper is appropriately thick. This is not the field edition. The prints are excellent. I think drawings of birds are much better than photographs, especially when done well.
