A Day in the Life: Bomb scare on the Subway

The Toronto Transit Commission Subway was closed this morning for almost one hour. It’s Canada’s first subway, but it wasn’t closed because of age. It was reported there was a bomb threat.

Later in the afternoon, I phone my wife to tell her I was coming home. I don’t usually do that, but today I thought it might be a good thing. Given the circumstances.
The conversation immediately turned to how she was in an accident. Well not quite. She had a flat tire. In any case after the explanation, she asked if I was coming home now. I answered “yes” to which she gladly responded “well it should be ok now, the bomb threat is over.”

It seemed to be an unaffected response, either meaning there was no sense that there really was anything to worry about or just not understanding the potential.
