Wikipedia provides 13 meanings for the word syzygy, including astronomical, mathematical, poetic, and psychological interpretations. I’ll add a forteenth: time.
If you follow the month/day/year format of representing dates and the 24 hour clock, then tomorrow, April 5th at about 1 AM will offer a unique event, a “syzygy” in the representation of time:
1:02:03 4/5/6
However, if you follow the day/month/year format, the event won’t happen until 1:02:03 AM on May 4th.
If you are like me, an opportunist, you can enjoy the event four times: at 1:02:03 AM and PM on both April 5th and May 4th. Have fun!
