There are a few reasons why I take the earliest train I can: (1) good parking spot: the TTC (Toronto Transit Commission) provides free parking (well if you have a monthly pass) and if you get there early you can get a spot close to the subway entrance. If you’re late, it could be a 5 minute walk. In summer, that’s pleasant; in winter, it’s horrible. (2) it’s quiet: at that time of day the subway is quiet, the streets are quiet; there is no rush of people pushing and shoving. It’s a much gentler way of descending into the day.
