Day 3: Tuesday May 16

On this day we move on to Auberge au Lion D’Or. Located in Orford Quebec, it is less than 30 minutes away from Phyllis’ house in Foster. There we picked up our golf vouchers and continued immediately along the way another 10 minutes to Orford Golf Club. The club is situated on the side of Mount Orford so it is a hilly course. The course was first opened in 1939, and reflects the style of course of that era: one that is less sophisticated in style and charm than many of the more modern courses.

After the game we enjoyed a excellent dinner in the Auberge’s restaurant. Part of the package included a gourmet multi-course dinner. The menu covered six courses, each one presented with artistic style and in appropriate quantity. It was the nice ending to the first golf day.
