On occasion it is the role of a leader to make the decisions that others don’t want to make, are too uninformed to make or don’t know they need to make. When a leader only represents the agenda of one interest group and not the interests of the nation he can be seen as only a pawn of the interest group, not a national leader. While there is always a philosophical framework that the leader will work within, such a context may affect which goals are achieved, how goals are achieved, but will not sacrifice the fundamental principles of the nation. This is why it is important to elect an individual who is able to assess the information available, understand its meaning, posses the good judgement about what is for the overall good and the fortitude to see it through.
