Kings Ridding

in

A Friend and I played Kings Ridding yesterday. A very nice course, one that I have wanted to play for a couple of years now. There was hardly anyone on the course so we had no one pushing from behind nor any waiting for someone in front. We finished in 3 1/2 hours.

At one point the marshal came by and I asked him if he could come by every so often and ask us to move a little faster. The fellow called himself a marshal. It seems that a lot of courses have moved away from that title, preferring something like customer service. I guess that changes the nature of their role, probably for the better. A colleague commented that by calling them marshals they may need to be issues guns. We both agreed that that was a bad idea.
