It wasn’t my first camera. The Rolleiflex was given to me by my Grandfather, sometime in the mid 1970’s. I think by that time he had pretty well given up his hobby.
The serial number falls within the range of those units made between April 1939 – October 1945 [1], and given the actual number I suspect it was closer to the 1945-end of the range.
I used it for only a few years, while in University. After graduating, I left photography until the children came along and then it was more about video than stills.
