After some research, there a few things I have learnt, but most importantly that my bonsai is a juniper and junipers are an outdoor plant and they require a period of dormancy. This can’t be got if it is kept indoors as the temperatures are too high.
So, I have constructed a bonsai haus for my little tree and put it on the back porch. The research says as long as the temperatures stay above -6c it should be OK. I suspect it can tolerate lower temperatures.
Constructed with a cardboard box and clear plastic wrap my bonsai haus should protect the plant from the wind which is probably the major concern.
