I’ve been flying across this stretch of Canada for nearly 50 years. Some differences, based on a fragile memory:
1. The carrier was named TCA (Tans Canada Airlines). Now it’s Air Canada
2. They used to include food, although I recall what was served was the subject of a number of jokes
3. The seats were much bigger or may be I was much smaller.
4. There were no entertainment systems: no movies; no maps to tell you where you are. The pilot would offer that information through periodic announcements
5. They would give you candies prior to take off to help deal with the changes in air pressure
6. Taking a flight was an adventure, now it’s burdened with security and crowds
7. I seem to recall the Toronto to Vancouver flight involved a stopover in Winipeg
8. Jets had four engines
Yet it remains bumpy flying across the Lake of the Woods region.
