Seeing the trees in the forest.

I processed this with Color Efex using the Polarization, Dark Contrasts, Detail, Darken-Lighten Center and Image Boarder filters.  The Dark Contrast and Detail filters have the most impact.  The former tempers the colours; the later brings out texture especially on the bark.
