The migration is taking longer than anticipated. After about 42 hours, it is 20% complete. That suggests 7 more days. Unfortunately the process locks out Lightroom, preventing any other use of the tool.
While there is no evidence of resource constraints, even at peak “speed,” there is a noticeable slow down after a few hours of running. Memory leak?
Fortunately the process is restartable. Even though it is necessary to re-enter the parameters, such as the location of the Aperture Library and the destination, and then wait for the program to find the restart point, it does go through what has already been migrated fairly quickly and without remigrating content already moved. It takes a bit of time to set things up and return to the restart point, but the increased pace compensates.
It is interesting to watch the stream of photographs being migrated go by. It reminds me of what I have done.
