CPAC

The Cable Public Affairs Channel, CPAC, offers a wide range of coverage of political affairs, including things like Question Period, Scrums, Committee Meetings, etc.  As well there are documentaries on the channel that provide helpful background information on key issues, such as In Conversation with Maclean’s [magazine]. These programmes are delivered through different channels, including TV, Internet and as an “App” to an iPad or iPhone.  With the election underway, they provide coverage of each of the three main leader’s tours.

The coverage of the Leader’s tours provides an unvarnished view of stump speeches unencumbered by the edits and commentary of one’s local news channel or the interpretation of pundits or other political operatives espousing their message. It provides an opportunity to hear the full context what the leaders say and make one’s own judgment rather than just accept the message of the attack ads.  Is Trudeau ready; does he have substance? Does Mulcair really represent change; that we want? Does Harper represent the least-risk route; should we stay that course?
