The image here is part of the same series I looked at yesterday, but in colour and with a bit more focus (notably on the eyes). From what I could see, Corrine Day softened the colours in her images, so this picture reflects similar processing. The approach I use to soften the colours — rather than desaturate — is to reduce the Contrast deep into negative territory and bump up the Vibrance. Saturation remains untouched, usually.
The technical challenge with the shot was shooting at f/0.95 at close range, where the depth of field was about 23mm. Without a tripod, any movement on my part or the model would throw the image out of focus. However, when got, the effect is quite wonderful: the eyes in focus but the hair, her outfit, etc. are soft.
