April Showers?

Updated: April 15th

This weekend there was more snow.  April is on track to be the snowiest month this Winter / Spring.  Snow accumulations, according to the Weather Channel, where:

  • December: 3.2 cms (average: 24 cms*)
  • January: 10.6 cms (average: 37 cms)
  • February: 17.8 cms (average: 27 cms)
  • March: 13 cms (average: 20 cms)
  • up to April 7 : 17.6 cms (average: 5 cms)
  • Up to April 14th: 20.3 cms (average: 5cms)

Looking at these numbers it’s clear to see it has been a pretty light season; really nothing to complain about.  And while the snow fall noted earlier (Delayed Until Further Notice) did drop the bulk of April’s accumulation to that point, it wasn’t necessary to shovel (the snow melted on its own in a day or so) so the worst effects were not endured.

This weekend’s dusting was mostly gone by mid-morning on Monday.  It looks like the Snow Drops can handle it; I just hope the magnolia isn’t hit with a late frost while blooming (which should be in a couple of weeks)
