8 Renditions of a Violin

I started playing the violin when I was in university. The violin I used was my father’s, but before that it was my grandfather’s.

There were two things that attracted my attention to this instrument. First, it was portable. Second, it was “analogue”, not “digital” like a piano.

I played for several years, until I left home and moved into an apartment. It was then that I realised how loud is the instrument…and that caused problems with the neighbours. Then came family and work and all the different things that got priority. But now, with COVID, I’ll see if I can still use it.
