Getting the vaccine

in

54 weeks in. Linda and I have received our first dose of the Pfizer vaccine. Last week Linda, yesterday for me. Many parts of Canada, including ours, have decided to play the statistical game and are postponing the second shot by 4 months, rather than the usual 2-3 weeks followup. This means more people get a first dose sooner; it means that more people have some protection rather than some having “complete” protection and many having none. To put it in mathematical terms, if two doses @95% given to 100 people protects 95 people, then giving 200 people a single dose @60% protects 120 people. So, while not fully protected, there is some and that feels a little better. Neither of us have experienced any side effects.

Waiting 15 minutes after the shot.
