Prompted to look into “distressing” negatives, I took a step back in the process and decided to look at other development methods. Inspired by @kavehpartovi’s work with caffenol, I have explored other developing agents. Here I contrast [instant] Coffee and Peppermint.
I scanned the black and white negatives as colour film to capture any tone left by the developer. Interestingly, the Peppermint conveyed a reddish tone; the coffee a brownish one, as might be expected.
