It follows that you are what you eat, and there is a lot of diversity in today’s menu, not just in foods, but also from where they come. The composition of our bodies is less tied to soil and water from where we live, than it was in my grandparent’s day. Within us today is a larger proportion of atoms, elements and compounds from California, Florida, Mexico, Peru, Indonesia, France, Italy, Germany, etc.

And as our bodies have become globalized, so have our attitudes and assumptions both from the jigsaw of pieces from our past as well as a diverse society. We are regularly exposed, through interaction and media, to a wide range of cultures, each reflecting different attitudes that impart something on each of us. Without introspection it is difficult to figure out where this tapestry of mind and body comes from.
