    Bill left Toronto to report into the US Army, in Detroit, on Wednesday, November 10, 1943. This is his first note back home, from Detroit Michigan. He has the day off as he does not need to report in until the next day, Thursday.

    Bill reports that they received their first mail delivery in about a month, however, nothing for the replacements (he s a replacement).     Bill notes that this day is election day, and that he had a chance to vote 2 months ago, but declined because his vote would have been cast for Michigan ridings that he is unfamiliar with. He also notes that they have been able to read about the Philippine invasion for the first time.
