Macaroni and Cheese
30 ml (2 tbsp) butter
30 ml (2 tbsp) all-purpose flour
1 ml (1/4 tsp) salt
3 ml (1/2 tsp) Worcestershire sauce
3 ml (1/2 tsp) mustard
250 ml (1 cup) milk
500 ml (2 cups) shredded Cheddar cheese
300 ml (1-1/4 cup) uncooked macaroni
1 tin stewed tomatoes (8 or 16 oz) [optional]
250 ml (1 cup) cubed ham [optional]
60 ml (1/4 cup) bread crumbs
Cook macaroni, drain and set aside
Heat milk, set aside
In a 1 l (4 cup) glass measuring cup melt butter (in microwave) then stir in flour, salt, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, and pepper
Gradually stir milk into flour mixture.
Cook in microwave for about 3 minutes or until smooth and thickening, stirring once halfway
Blend in 375 ml (1-1/2 cups) of cheese, stir in until melted
In a casserole combine sauce, onions, tomatoes, ham and macaroni.
Layer remaining cheese and bread crumbs over top of casserole.
Cook in microwave at 60% for about 5 - 6 minutes or until bubbling, let stand covered for 5 minutes.
