675g ground pork (optional / alternative use spicy Italian sausages or a mix)
675g ground beef
3 chopped onions
300g sliced mushrooms
4 stalks diced celery
4 cloves of finely chopped garlic
4 cans of tomato paste (156ml)
4 cans of diced tomatoes (796ml)
500 ml beef broth (if necessary)
oregano, bay leaves, salt, pepper
Steps:
Brown meat in large saucepan
Add onions, mushrooms, celery, garlic and cook until soft (10-20 mins), stirring regularly.
Add tomato paste, diced tomatoes, spices, and bring to boil. Then turn down heat and simmer for 2-3 hours, stirring regularly. Add beef broth if sauce is too thick (I usually don’t)
