Spaghetti Sauce

  • 675g ground pork (optional / alternative use spicy Italian sausages or a mix)
  • 675g ground beef
  • 3 chopped onions
  • 300g sliced mushrooms
  • 4 stalks diced celery
  • 4 cloves of finely chopped garlic
  • 4 cans of tomato paste (156ml)
  • 4 cans of diced tomatoes (796ml)
  • 500 ml beef broth (if necessary)
  • oregano, bay leaves, salt, pepper
  1. Brown meat in large saucepan
  2. Add onions, mushrooms, celery, garlic and cook until soft (10-20 mins), stirring regularly.
  3. Add tomato paste, diced tomatoes, spices, and bring to boil. Then turn down heat and simmer for 2-3 hours, stirring regularly. Add beef broth if sauce is too thick (I usually don’t)
