Ingredients:
- 675g ground pork (optional / alternative use spicy Italian sausages or a mix)
- 675g ground beef
- 3 chopped onions
- 300g sliced mushrooms
- 4 stalks diced celery
- 4 cloves of finely chopped garlic
- 4 cans of tomato paste (156ml)
- 4 cans of diced tomatoes (796ml)
- 500 ml beef broth (if necessary)
- oregano, bay leaves, salt, pepper
Steps:
- Brown meat in large saucepan
- Add onions, mushrooms, celery, garlic and cook until soft (10-20 mins), stirring regularly.
- Add tomato paste, diced tomatoes, spices, and bring to boil. Then turn down heat and simmer for 2-3 hours, stirring regularly. Add beef broth if sauce is too thick (I usually don’t)
