Bill reports he finally received a letter. He says he is no longer assigned to the infantry, and now is in the medical department, attached to the 8th cavalry regiment. There are 17 men in the group, under Major Swift. He is on duty in the aid station about two days per week, leaving a lot of spare time. He says he bandages up cuts, treat skin diseases, take temperatures, give out pills. He treats a lot of “natives”, mostly for venereal disease.
