What’s happening with Microsoft? iPhone application #2 Tag Reader.
For those of you with an iPhone, you download the application linked above, then using the on-board camera you take a picture of a “tag” (as demonstrated in the above picture) and the iPhone application interprets the code and “executes” the command. The above tag will fire up the iPhone’s browser and take the reader to this site, hertha.com.
While this demonstration is simple and may be not particularly useful, a practical use might be to include the tag as part of a printed marketing campaign to direct customers to the landing site. Saves a few key strokes and offers some “coolness” (and surprisingly complements of MSFT!). See the Microsoft/tag site for more information.
