Coming out of the closet

Cathartic indeed.

It struck me, when discussing an issue [simplification: the need to simplify a complex computing environment] with a colleague. It may be that the reason this issue has gain so much attention is less about what it is but more about the relief one feels when he can freely and opening state he does not understand the environment. No longer is it a signal of his own lack of [mental] capabilities; it is really just very complicated. No one can understand it. The resulting exuberance causes one to repeat the need for simplification over and over again. It’s a cycle of reward. Relief and exuberance manifest each time it is said.
