Respect

I have been told on several occasions that photography is NOT about your gear; it’s about you skills. While these statements are frequently made by those with some interest in training, I do believe there is truth in what they say.
However, I also know that the reaction and level of “respect” one receives is dramatically higher when carrying an M9 vs. a point-and-shoot.
Go figure.
