The Marsh

My third objective was to capture the marshes.  Again I had an image in mind and from my research, it would be found on or near the Mississippi Delta in Louisiana.  This is not to say that that state holds exclusive rights; it’s just where I expected it to be along our route. 

As we drove along the Gulf Coast of Louisiana, the altitude reported by the GPS remain fairly constant varying only a couple of meters, sometimes dipping into negative numbers (which I expect was more about the granularity of the signal than reality).   Regardless it did convey the message that high ground was hard to find. So when I did find one it provided an opportunity to get a broader view.
