April 1 the TTC (Toronto Transit Commission) implemented their plan to charge monthly pass holders for parking at their lots. Prior to this, parking was included in the monthly pass. Those without a monthly pass had to pay $6. Now everyone pays $6/day for parking. In the overall scheme of things this is not a large amount; I recently paid $5 per 1/2 hour to park downtown. Yet, oddly the daily parking fee is higher than the return transit fee.
Apparently many have decided to take alternatives as the other day when I left the lot at Finch it was half empty, when in previous times it would have been full.
