There are things in Chile that once were in Toronto but over the years have quietly disappeared: Shoe-shine men, gas station attendants and newsstands. It’s not that I’m nostalgic for those things gone or waning, it’s just when you see them in such abundance you’re reminded and then notice their disapparence.
