The leg from Puerto Varas Chile to Bariloche Argentina took us through the Andes. The travel involves three bus rides separated by by three ferry rides. Below is the first boat ride across Lake Todos Los Santos on our way to Peulla. In the background is the volcano Osorno.
The trip may be taken in one day, starting at 8:00AM and arriving in Bariloche in the evening around 8:30PM. Alternatively, there is a two-day excursion where travellers spend the night in Peulla. We chose the one-day journey. Peulla makes sense if you like isolation; getting to Bariloche makes sense if you prefer a wide selection of restaurants on other activities one would expect in any robust town.
