Visitor’s Centre

After our hike along Booth’s Rock Trail we stopped in at the Visitor’s Centre.

My interest in this shot was to capture a range of colours as well as the shapes of the trees.  I like the third image–processed with Nik Color Efex–but I felt the detail that was brought out distracted from the shape of the trees.

Reviewing landscape paintings the feel and mood conveyed is not in the details it presents but in the flow and rhythm of the subject.

I processed the Nik version with Photoshop Elements to smudge the detail so the shapes, the curves of the trees, became more pronounced.  It’s not exactly what I would like. To get what I had in mind may require a shot that is out of focus from the start.  Next time.
