Knowlton

in

Knowlton is a place I have visited since the early 1970’s.  Between 1974 and 1985 I owned a place just north in Racine Quebec.  So returning to Knowlton is both a walk down memory lane and a comparison of what has changed.  While many things are the same, there are of course some new buildings, yet not that many. Stores have changed hands but more interestingly, the village is a little more active and postures to be upscale with clothing-tourist shops like Jones of New York and fine dining. A long way from the 35 cent hamburgers and 65 cent beers at the Bolton Pass Inn that we used to be able to buy.

We stayed in the Auberge et Spa West Brome situated on highway 139 just between Cowansville and Knowlton.  A fine place, with its own very good restaurant.
