Creating the Orchid Shot

in

The Orchid shot I posted the other day was formed by combining two different layers (image + background) and then touched up by “painting” on a layer mask with Wet Blender 50 brush from Kyle’s Paintbox.

After combining the layers the resulting image was then processed by first creating a layer mask and then using a regular paint brush to trim back the edge of the background a couple of centimetres. Following that, I rubbed the trimmed-back edges with the Wet Blender 50 brush to create a randomized edge, reminiscent of water paints.
