I’ve been taking pictures of our magnolia tree for many years. Its familiarity is a comfort. It is a harbinger of Spring and Summer. It is frustrating too, as it is a beautiful tree, yet so difficult to photograph. Each year I try something different. In the last couple of years I have discovered that the combination of my Fujifilm GFX 100s body and a Leica Noctilux 50mm shot at f/0.95 produces interesting results.
It leaves me with a sense of the uncanny.
