Hotel Dieu

Another spot along the Van Gogh trail is the Hotel Dieu, the place where the painter both painted an image and spent some time there as a result of a wound to his ear.

Usually, during the tourist hours,  the place is teaming with people trying to get the shot that most closely aligns with the image in the painting or baring that, taking selfies to confirm that they visited this place.  The buildings retain the original colour and the garden the plants and trees.

I’m glad Van Gogh never visited (and painted) my place; I’d be stuck with the same decor forever.
