Mr. Marcus was a friend of Bill’s parents (my grandparents). He and his wife were from Germany. My Grandfather and Mr. Marcus worked for the same company. When Bill left Toronto in November 1943, he spent a night at the Marcus’s home in Detroit. He said then, Mrs. Marcus didn’t speak much English.
Bill then talks about his new tent-mate, Bill Vines, a mining engineer.
He wraps up by say he expects his mailing address to change. From an historical perspective, we know the invasion of Leyte is just a few weeks away.
