Sassnitz is on the island of Rugen—Germany’s largest island–in the Baltic sea. The city is adjacent to a large nature reserve, Jasmund National Park, on its east that runs along the Baltic coast. It’s most famous features are the chalk cliffs.
While in the city we enjoy fabulous seafood and wonderful walks through the nature reserve. The woodlands of this area a quite pristine, certainly when compared to Canadian standards.
