We were up in Algonquin Park last weekend. The west side of the park was at it’s peak; the east side will likely reach it next weekend.
I took this shot in tight with my Panasonic using a focal length the equivalent of 200mm. I wanted to get a shot that was just pure colour; one that captured the waves of red, yellow and orange.
This image was processed with Color Efex using the Polarization Filter, Dark Contrasts, Detail Extractor, Darken Center and Boarder. The Polarization Filter has the effect of slightly brightening the colours; Dark Contrast and Detail Extractor helped define the trees. The Darken Centre emphasizes the focal point, which in this case I put onto the yellow leaves just off centre.
